Bruker EOS 500 Handheld LIBS Analyzer
Bruker EOS 500 Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) Analyzer: Fast, Accurate Metal Composition Analysis
The Bruker EOS 500 Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (HH-LIBS) analyzer is designed to precisely determine the elemental composition of metals. By utilizing laser excitation on a sample and performing quantitative analysis of the plasma generated, the EOS 500 provides alloy readings within 3-5 seconds, including for common alloys like aluminum, titanium, and magnesium.
Fast, Lightweight & Versatile for Light Element Analysis
The EOS 500 is particularly well-suited for scrap metal sorting thanks to its lightweight design (weighing only 2.4 kg with the battery), rapid analysis, and ease of use. In addition to the standard XRF elements, it can effectively measure light elements such as Lithium (Li), Beryllium (Be), and Boron (B). The EOS 500 outperforms XRF in speed by approximately 10 times when analyzing light elements, making it a time-saving and cost-effective solution. Optional calibrations are also available for Iron (Fe), Nickel (Ni), Copper (Cu), and Cobalt (Co) alloys.
Reliable and Repeatable Results
The EOS 500 is engineered to provide accurate and repeatable results. Bruker has incorporated the Air-Flow Optics Shield™ to prevent contamination from dust generated during laser ablation, ensuring the integrity of measurements.
User-Friendly and Easy to Operate
Despite being laboratory-grade equipment, the EOS 500 is designed for simplicity. The intuitive interface, easy-to-read results, and seamless data management make it easy to operate with minimal training. Built-in report generation tools further streamline your analysis.
No X-Ray Regulations for Safer Use
Since the EOS 500 utilizes LIBS technology instead of traditional X-ray methods, there are no X-ray regulations associated with its use, making it safer for operators and more convenient for everyday applications.
Extensive Alloy Library & Advanced Software
The EOS 500 comes equipped with an extensive library, containing over 400 alloy definitions, and supports international standards such as UNS and DIN. The Bruker Toolbox software allows users to modify existing alloy definitions, create new alloys, and share libraries across instruments, enhancing flexibility and efficiency.
